Holmes Mill is part of the James’ Places Group, here’s our story so far…
It all began in 1996 with the purchase and refurbishment of the Moor Lane Methodist Chapel. The tired and neglected building was given the kiss of life, the staff were recruited – and at break neck speed on a hopelessly optimistic budget and timescale the Emporium was born.
And that in a nutshell is what we have been doing ever since.
Twenty years on and James’ Places is now an eclectic group of award-winning businesses in the Ribble Valley, Lune Valley and the Yorkshire Dales. Although no two are alike, what links them together is a passion for fabulous food, great service and a warm friendly ambience that’s apparent as soon as you walk through the door.
Holmes Mill our most recent acquisition and comprises of a beer hall, hotel, bistro, brewery, food hall, café, gelateria and much more. The ‘Mill’ is also home to our head office, a number of creative businesses and we are soon to open a 4-screen Everyman cinema and gym.
We now employ more people at the mill than were employed in its heyday with an army of dedicated professionals from the maintenance team, painters and decorators to chefs, bar and waiting staff, housekeepers and groundsmen, all of whom make the Holmes Mill difference.
