Financial Accountant - Christchurch

Located on the outskirts of Christchurch, Hoburne is now looking for a Financial Accountant to join their friendly team.

A rare and excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded Finance team in a varied progressive family owned business. The Hoburne Group comprises Hoburne Ltd. and Burry and Knight Ltd. operating 8 holiday parks in fantastic locations, a residential park, 3 golf clubs, a property rental portfolio and a property development business.

Reporting to the Finance Director, this role will suit someone who is looking for a broader Finance role with opportunities to learn and make a difference to the business. Key responsibilities include:

  • Improving controls and ways of working across the business,
  • Managing Finance systems and delivery of improvements,
  • Ownership of cashflow monitoring and forecasting
  • Providing support to the team on month end accounting and reporting
  • Support delivery of Procurement initiatives and savings and liaise with Procurement consultant
  • Preparation of quarterly VAT returns
  • Produce/review balance sheet reconciliations and ensure all reconciling items are cleared
  • Assisting with regulatory and compliance projects

Key requirements:

  • Professional accounting qualification (or in final stages)
  • Ideally a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • Commercial awareness
  • Experience of improving financial controls
  • Experience of external and / or internal auditing
  • Ability to document procedures and to ensure that they are being followed
  • Strong IT and excel skills
  • A positive attitude with energy and drive and a willingness to learn

Whilst this is a full time role, the opportunity exists to adjust the workload for a part time basis.

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum
