About the role…

  • Ensuring high quality delivery of services, customer relations and contact with guests.  Monitoring quality of delivery and guest perception of quality.
  • Advise on new methods/approaches to the Restaurants, Cafes, Bars and Function Room services.  Implement as agreed with the Food & Beverage Services Manager.
  • Assisting in design/implementation of agreed Restaurant/Café/ Bar/ Function Room programmes, procedures and standards including sales results and targets, decoration, cleanliness, atmosphere and attractiveness of the department.
  • Continually monitor staffing levels and supervise rotas/daily planners in the Restaurants, Cafes, Bars and Function Rooms ensuring coverage sufficiently suited to the requirements of the business and satisfactory time keeping and attendance.
  • Ensure monthly team meetings are held to ensure monitoring and controlling all areas and programmes including objectives/sales targets, standards, maintenance and follow up codes of practise, tight control over Cafe security and safety, team motivation and development are all met.
  • Demonstrate team leadership skills and commitment to Human Resource Management and staff development in line with our company’s equal opportunities policy.
  • Maintain awareness and observation of Fire, Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Co-ordinating the entire operation of the Restaurants, Cafes, Bars and Function Rooms during scheduled shifts in the absence of the Food & Beverage Services Manager.
  • Ensuring that all employees adhere to the company’s uniform standards.
  • Assisting in training and motivating staff.
  • Help identify training and development needs within the department.
  • Assisting in the design and develop training programmes where necessary, based upon the departmental and individual needs.
  • Maintaining high standards of quality control, hygiene, health and safety whilst adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Assisting and ensuring the weekly/monthly checking of stock levels and ordering supplies.
  • Recording all complimentary and wastage.
  • Help out in any area of the department when circumstances dictate.
  • Ensure the daily completion of any legal requirements i.e. fridge temperatures are met.
  • Ensure you are fully aware of the dishes on the current menu, i.e. how they are served, garnished and ingredients.
  • Ensure you are aware of any guest dietary requirements (allergies) to ensure the correct delivery of food.
  • Ensure all special requests are met, i.e. flowers and cakes.
  • To ensure the restaurant is clean and tidy and tables are reset to a high standard.
  • Complete return to work forms
  • Completion of weekly time sheets and attendance cards.
  • Inputting data on to the daily K.P.I sheet.
  • Notifying staff of daily sales targets.
