Assistant Manager - Live In Available - Coniston, Cumbria

  • Location: Monk Coniston Hall, Coniston LA21 8AQ
  • Contract: Permanent
  • Hours of work: on a rota, based over any 5 from 7 days.
  • Salary Banding: £23,322 - £24,336 + plus tips.

Job Brief:

To support the Country House Manager, with the delivery of a consistent level of high customer service. 

The roles’ responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • To deputise in the House Manager’s absence on days off, off site meetings and for annual leave ensuring that all day to day management responsibilities are completed.
  • To support the House Manager to ensure the financial success of the Country House.
  • To be responsible for all house staff and their day to day duties.
  • To complete aspects of general administration as required by the House Manager.
  • To assist in the preparation of all house staff rotas and duties, excluding kitchen.
  • To ensure that the house operates to the standards required by HF Holidays.
  • To assist the House Manager to complete the induction of all new staff.
  • To ensure that all house staff comply with HF Holidays policies, e.g. fire, safety precautions etc. and are qualified to the required levels.
  • To supervise or assist the Manager in the service of meals.
  • To engage and interact with guests in a way that promotes a warm and friendly atmosphere within the Country House Hotel.

Key Competencies and Skills:

  • Experience in a similar role is essential.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Be naturally outgoing & sociable.
  • Able to communicate effectively.
  • A good team leader and player.
  • Flexibility in working hours, availability at evenings and weekends.
