The basics:
In addition to your basic pay, all of the service charge goes to the people who work in the restaurants and we do not have daft policies that make staff accountable for things like walk outs or breakages. We give everyone reasonable hours, flexibility wherever we can, free staff meals on shifts and Christmas Day and Boxing Day off. You can wear your own clothes front of house (work in trainers when you want to!), be yourself at work and get treated like an adult. There are lots of charitable opportunities and we’ll give you an extra paid day off if you want to use it to volunteer.

The opportunity to progress:
Everyone has opportunities to develop professionally and in their career, with training on offer from free English language classes to wine qualifications and supplier trips, with loads in between. We offer qualifications, including in Health and Safety, Food Safety and HR and a five-stage management development programme, run in partnership with the Watershed Management School. By the time you’ve worked your way through it all, you’ll have the skills you need to be a great General Manager or Head Chef (or even to run your own restaurant…!). We fill around 70% of our management jobs, including all of our General Managers, through promotion.

To help you save for your old age, we offer additional money from the company; we will put 3% of your pay (on top of what you already earn) into your pension if you do.

We offer paid company maternity and paternity leave to help you care for new family members, and access to a health cash plan with BUPA. To provide peace of mind, we sign everyone up to our income insurance, life assurance and employee support schemes with Hospitality Action and Lifeworks from Day 1.
