Salary: dependant on experience up to £26,000 pa basic plus service charge extra

A rare opportunity has arisen to join the kitchen team at the 4 Silver Star Chateau La Chaire Hotel in Jersey as Sous Chef. The restaurant is working towards a 3 rosette award and you will need to be disciplined with a keen eye for detail and likely to have gained at least 3 years’ experience previously in a professional kitchen environment to at least 2 rosette standard. You will be expected to deputise for the Head Chef and be capable of maintaining the high standards. The hotel has a stable, young and enthusiastic team so you would be expected to set an example to the team offer any training and support where required
The position is normally 45 hours over 5 or 6 days per week dependant on business levels.. Double accommodation can be onsite for which a charge of £60 per week is made to include all meals and laundry. Service charges are paid extra to salary.
Chateau La Chaire is located in Rozel Valley close to the quaint fishing harbour of Rozel Bay and enjoys an enviable reputation both with the very discerning local dining market and visitors from the mainland and beyond. The hotel has 13 individually styled suites and rooms, a 40-cover fine dining restaurant with informal conservatory & al fresco option and a newly built 60 cover function suite.
Rozel Bay is located on the north east coast of the island close to Gorey and a 20 minute drive from St Helier.
The hotel has also recently acquired the local pub in the village which has recently become the only pub in Jersey recommended in the Michelin Guide.
