About The Role​

You will use your skills and knowledge to ensure that both our internal and external customers are supplied with the best quality, locally sourced meat. Using the beef and lamb supplied from the family farm and carefully selected products from other local suppliers you will ensure a full and attractive retail display and offer exceptional service and advice to our customers whenever they need it.  

Your responsibilities will include; 

• Using your knowledge and experience to debone and prepare the carcass to specification, using the meat coming from the cutting room to make visually impactful displays on our counters
• Carrying out quality and compliance checks on all products coming in to the department to ensure we are only selling the best quality products to our customers
• Providing advice, recommendations and cooking instructions to customers where necessary as well responding to requests for cuts not presented on the counter.
• Completing internal and external orders by prioritising and organising your time and working with your colleagues to make sure that they are completed on time for our customers
• Supporting the production of our own brand products – sausages, burgers etc for supply to our internal customers as well as for sale on the counter.
• Ensuring standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times as well as ensuring all compliance paperwork and procedures are completed including stock rotation, labelling and waste reporting.
• Ensuring a safe working environment by wearing correct P.P.E. correctly using any equipment and reporting any defects

About You

We are looking for someone with a formal Butchery qualification or the relevant experience, you must also have the ability to work at pace in a busy retail environment as well as having a warm and friendly manner to give excellent customer service.
