Salary:            Up to £45,000

Hours:             9:00am – 6:00pm

Role Overview:

Gaucho UK requires an 8 months fixed term HR Manager providing maternity cover. As HR Manager, you will be responsible for leading the HR function across 2 brands (Gaucho and CAU) ensuring delivery of an excellent HR service to the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for over 50 sites and over 1,300 employees
  • Overseeing Payroll and HR Administration. Managing a team of three, consisting of Payroll Manager, HR Administrator and HR Assistant
  • Employee Relations - Ownership of all Employee Relations matters ensuring compliance with Employment Law
  • Advising and guiding both managers and employees on HR policies and procedures
  • Coaching and training HR team, Operation Managers and Managers on ER and HR Administration. Planning and delivering training where needed.
  • Providing e-mail, telephone and face to face advice and guidance in people management matters such as Performance Improvement plans, investigations, disciplinary hearings, grievances and absence management
  • Drafting and proof-reading correspondence, primarily on employee-relations matters.
    • Employment Law - responsible for writing, improving and implementing company policies and procedures as and when necessary ensuring compliance with Employment law
    • Leading the implementation of any ER related initiatives including Employee Engagement activities
      • Employee Benefits- ensuring that employee benefits and rewards and up to date, relevant and competitive
      • Communicating effectively and constructively at all levels within the business
      • Keeping the board informed on employee’s cases, insurance claims, policies and procedures and initiatives on a monthly basis.
      • Business Partner/stakeholder management- Working alongside key stakeholders of the business, including the leadership team and regional managers across the country to deliver a high quality HR service

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • At least 2 years working in a HR management (or Business Partner) role, with at least 5 years in the HR industry, ideally in a similar hospitality environment
  • First class Employee Relations and employment law/legislation knowledge
  • Proven track record of case management including sickness, disciplinary and grievance issues ensuring fairness, consistency and legal compliance.
  • Experience of training and coaching Senior Managers on conducting investigations, disciplinary procedures and appeal meetings
  • Self-motivated, confident and pro-active team player
    • Up-to-date working knowledge of HR best practice and employment law
    • Direct management experience required
    • Direct experience of managing payroll (with in house or external supplier) required
    • Direct experience of managing an in-house HR system (Fourth Hospitality ideally)
    • Excellent communication and relationship building skills at all levels of the business
    • Ability to assess risks and make fair decisions that meet the needs of the business
    • Self-driven with the ability to organise, plan, prioritise and work under pressure within a fast paced commercial environment.
    • Demonstrates integrity in all areas of work
