Volunteer Trustee- Active Life- Kent

Active Life is recruiting suitably experienced volunteers to join our Board of Trustees to provide high level governance to the organisation and to support the executive team with our corporate strategic direction.

About Us

Active Life is a not for profit, registered charity. As the district‘s leading sports, fitness and leisure provider we’re dedicated to improving the fitness, wellbeing and health of everyone in the area. All income is invested back into operating the centres that we manage ensuring you enjoy some of the best possible facilities available. We have a board of voluntary trustees that oversee the provision of the service, supporting the professional management and administration team.

About you:

You will have an interest in what we do and will also bring with you any number of business skills and experience, including from other commercial and/or charity sectors. We are particularly keen to recruit volunteers with a proven track record in business or a relevant profession at a senior management level.  Also, experience with an operational leisure organisation and/or financial background is of particular benefit, although not required.  Candidates with an understanding of audit and risk frameworks, business, financial and commercial acumen, and/or organisational development experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

Details:

As a Trustee you would be expected to be able to commit to attending quarterly board meetings in Kent, additional sub-committee meetings and other ad-hoc strategic meetings, which are likely to be once to twice per year.

This is an unremunerated role, reasonable expenses from a UK base are covered.
