Head Cook and Housekeeping Supervisor

We are now recruiting for an experienced and dynamic Head Cook and Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team in this wonderful location.

About You:
To be successful as the Head Cook and Housekeeping Supervisor at Blue Peris you will need to be flexible, as the role is diverse; taking on responsibilities both in the kitchens, and in the main Centre. Ideally you need to have experience in a similar role, and as a must you’ll need a Food Hygiene Level 2 qualification as a minimum (training can be arranged to upskill to Level 3, should all other requirements for the role be met).

As you’ll be line managing the Kitchen and Housekeeping staff for the centre, you will need experience of managing teams, and must have excellent communication skills; including listening, questioning and delivering effective feedback, and the ability to quickly build trust and rapport.

Some of the tasks and responsibilities associated with this role include:

  • Manage the catering and housekeeping staffing rota to ensure all catering, cleaning and housekeeping is covered for all programmes
  • Be responsible for, oversee and support the operation of the Centre’s souvenir shop; including the ordering of stock, and use of shop till systems, accurately and efficiently handling cash
  • Take charge to ensure all food, cleaning, laundry and sundries are ordered in a timely manner, and that stocks are monitored and stored to meet current HSE regulations
  • Keep within budgets, and maintain overview of expenditure for catering and housekeeping
  • Monitor the quality of the produce, menus and service provided
  • Train and advise all catering and housekeeping staff in regards to Centre polices
  • Oversee and manage catering and domestic requirements related to any off sites courses
  • Prepare and produce meals and menus in-keeping with a modern menu
  • Ensure menus suit all customers, and a review of menus takes place on a regular basis, adapting where needed
  • Ensure logistics requirements for each course are in place as required
