Main Responsibilities

 

 

  • The ability to maintain the tiled, painted and wallpapered finishes internal and external of the property as relevant in a manner consistent with that of a luxury hotel.
  • Maintain and update finishing schedules, control stock and inventory for the paint shop, ensuring tools / equipment such as brushes and rollers are kept in a good condition.
  • The ability to use all safety precautions at all times when using tools, chemicals, ladders, or other potentially dangerous equipment or supplies.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, assisting on major emergencies, emergency clean up, shut downs & repairs if required.
  • Perform preventive maintenance in guest areas to the standards of the Product & CARE Maintenance Programs.
  • Respond to all general deficiencies and repairs / product maintenance in a timely manner.
  • Routinely clean all work stations in engineering areas and maintain a neat and organized work place, following best practice “clean as you go”.
  • The ability to use all safety precautions at all times when using tools, chemicals, ladders, or other potentially dangerous equipment or supplies.
  • Respond and work though task requests or product inspection reports as generated by Hotel management.
  • Effectively complete minor installations works or relocation of existing equipment as assigned.
  • Maintain engineering logs (paper & digital) for all work performed while on duty.
  • Engage & assist guests in a positive and professional manner.
  • Respect the guests’ privacy and comfort at all times
  • Familiar in the use of Hotsos, Task reporting, Task responding and Task completing procedures.
  • Adhere and follow proper payroll and uniform procedures.
  • Conduct self in a professional manner at all times.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with other employees.
  • Dress in accordance with grooming standards for uniformed employees and ensure a neat, clean, and tidy appearance at all times, adhering to the Grooming Standards Policy.
  • Report accidents / incidents immediately, no matter how minor.
  • Safeguard guests and employees with the knowledge and application of safety, accident prevention, and fire drills.
  • Always respond immediately and professionally in an emergency or safety situation.
  • Adhere to the established standard of conduct and house rules, fire regulations, and department procedures and policies.
  • Performs other tasks or projects as appropriately assigned by Engineering management / Supervisor.
  • Expected to be flexible in various working shifts.
  • The general working hours are eight hours plus half an hour meal time each day for a five-day week. Weekend work and Night Work will be required as relevant to task and business needs.
