Training Manager - ExCel London Hospitality - ExCel Exhibition Centre - Compass Group

Overall Purpose of the Role

  • To support the provision of legendary experiences to our guests through the design and implementation of training initiatives which are both aligned to mandatory legal requirements and strategic context set by the Learning and Development Manager
  • Ensure all colleagues, at all levels, have the knowledge they need to operate safely and effectively in their roles.
  • To train and upskill individuals in the business to ensure high standards are being achieved and service results are being improved. 

    Front Line Training:

  • Support the planning and execution of service training, people development and other potential key events
  • Provide the tools and expertise to the site to ensure the all workforce are trained to our guest service standards
  • Ensure the guest service is delivered as per the site  expectations and provide “on the job” training at key times
  • Lead the continuous guest experience management programme
  • Work closely with the Learning & Development Manager to ensure training is aligned to site specific and Levy UK initiatives and marketing insight
  • Ensure that all staff receive a full induction and relevant training on joining the Company
  • Manage all training course administration correctly such as delegates lists and training event feedback
  • Work closely with the HR teams in assisting with recruitment of staff for all areas
  • Partner with the Learning and Development Manager to diagnose training needs and identify appropriate solutions
  • Supporting the business to compile training needs analysis
  • Identify, train and motivate colleagues to become training champions within specific venues and continue to support their ongoing development
  • Manage local training costing of learning programmes to ensure they are kept within budget
  • Continuous evaluation of training programmes
  • Work closely with the Learning and Development Manager to devise training strategies for venues and manage the training plan accurately
  • Coaching line managers to support and resolve guest service issues and also to enhance the guest experience
  • Adherence to all Levy HR Core signatures
  • Plan all training course logistics in a timely manner such as room equipment and training catering as required
  • Create and manage all site specific classroom and non-classroom learning activity through the Learning Management Platforms

  • Flexible approach – training manager will need to work weekends evenings and across The O2 and ExCel London
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills
