Category Buyer - Ennismore London

We’re currently looking for a Category Buyer to join our team. We’ll look to you to effectively manage relationships with our current suppliers and identify new ones to support our Operational teams. Ultimately you’ll help us optimise costs while sustaining high product quality and generally improving our procurement performance across the UK & Europe.

It’s a great opportunity to join one of the fastest growing companies in the UK, with plenty of opportunities to develop your career.  You’ll be based at HoxHouse in London, and work closely with our Procurement Director based in Scotland.

Here’s what we see you doing in this role:

  • Identify cost saving opportunities, from sourcing alternative products and services to continually challenging the supplier base for innovations which will produce improved value for money
  • Help us build and develop strong partnerships with key suppliers, handling ongoing negotiations for designated categories and sub categories using best practice tools including total cost price analysis and supplier performance reviews to deliver outstanding performance in cost, service and quality
  • Maximise leverage on supplier spend across the Group and consolidate the supply chain
  • Analyse supply markets to identify best in category suppliers and market trends
  • Work closely with our teams throughout the company, keeping them involved and informed when it comes to supplier management
  • Support the development of new policies and procedures, such as developing and maintaining a Procurement Manual and where appropriate link to online Procurement systems
  • Be part of tender processes by preparing relevant documents and helping with bid analysis
  • Ensure we’re following sustainability and ethical guidelines at all times

The kind of person we are looking for:

  • Understands the role of procurement and how it works with up to two years’ experience within a relevant role; being familiar with the supply markets within hospitality would be an advantage
  • Good negotiation skills with strong commercial thinking
  • An Excel pro with strong analytical skills and laser-sharp attention to detail
  • A self-starter who takes ownership of and pride in their work, and focuses on delivering results on time
  • Enthusiasm, confidence and warmth; you like working in an environment where things move and flex, where a can-do attitude is key
  • You want to be part of a team that works hard, supports each other and above all has fun along the way
  • Ideally working towards MCIPS
