Our history
The Eataly concept was born from Oscar Farinetti’s idea to gather under one roof, high-quality food, creating an informal, natural, and simple place to eat, shop and learn.
On January 27th, 2007 he opened the first Eataly location in Torino, a place to learn about food, though food, about life. The first experiential marketplace dedicated to Italian excellence.
Eataly is a place where you can swing by the wine shop for a glass of wine, enjoy an Italian meal in one of the restaurants before shopping for fresh and seasonal tomatoes, house-made mozzarella, a loaf of bread and everything you need for a simple and delicious dinner – but you can also learn how those tomatoes were grown, explore the history of an Italian region through its cheese and stop to appreciate how bread is being made by our expert bakers.
More than a marketplace, Eataly has become an experience!
Eataly is STORYTELLING!
