THE ROLE

Reporting into the CEO and Owner you will be part of the Executive team, work closely with our CFO and mentor venue managers to ensure the development & training strategy is delivered. As an experienced HR generalist, you will have a great understanding of ER, employment law and diversity & inclusion programmes. Based at our HQ in Spitalfields, you will actively visit and support all our venues in an exciting hands-on role.

As our Head of People, you will be there to develop & implement company culture, provide operational advice on all HR matters, oversee employee relations and coach, mentor as well as teach venue management on HR matters. This is a diverse role where you will have the opportunity to devise and implement training strategy, oversee mid- to senior level management recruitment and mentor, and support a passionate team of two in recruitment and training. You will be implementing & communicating effective performance management systems and look at all internal development and succession planning as well as managing all company policies and procedures including health & safety.

REQUIREMENTS

· Energetic, creative, kind – a true People Person

· Must have at least 3 years’ experience in a similar role & ideally a matching qualification

· Must have a hospitality background (preferably pubs and bars), working within a small growing independent company

· Excellent communication & listening skills

· Great decision-making skills

· Self-motivated with a positive outlook – nothing will phase you

· Strong commercial acumen

· Forward thinking & confident in what you do

· Experienced leading a small team
