Sandymouth Holiday Resort in Bude now has a Head Chef position available at their stunning coastal location in Bude. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Chef to progress their career within this busy, popular resort.

The ideal candidate will possess a wealth of previous knowledge and be comfortable within a busy kitchen environment. You will be adept at leading and motivating a team, pushing them to produce high quality dishes.

The successful candidate will take on a range of day to day responsibilities. Alongside ensuring prompt and efficient preparation and service, you will keep strict stock controls including managing waste and stock ordering. Training members of the team is key, along with motivation and management to gain the best from all members.

This is a full time, permanent position to work variable hours including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the consistent and prompt food service within the team.
• Accurate stock control including performing stocktakes and ordering.
• Ensure the cleanliness of all kitchen areas at all times.
• Check all published menus and specials boards have correct selling prices and information.
• Provision of correct portion sizes in line with company guidelines and control of all waste.
• Ensure the team comply with all food hygiene regulations at all times.

What experience you will need

• You will have similar previous experience within a busy kitchen environment.

What skills you will need

• Catering qualifications and Level 3 Food Safety are desirable.
• Driving licence and ability to drive is advantageous.
• Good strong communication skills.
• Positive attitude with willingness to learn.
