Junior Sous Chef - The Grill, Dakota Eurocentral

The Grill in Dakota Eurocentral, is seeking a hard-working professional chef for the role of Junior Sous Chef. We are centrally located off the M8 by Motherwell, just a 15min drive from Glasgow, and 25-30mins from Livingston or Falkirk with ample free parking. 

CONTRACT & PAY RATE

This is a permanent, full-time contract with earnings of £24,000 per annum.

The heart and soul of our Hotel, is our award-winning bar and restaurant. Delivering a brasserie style of service, The Grill at Dakota is profiled for having a seasonal menu and take pride in using the best ingredients possible.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be confident in supporting to run a busy kitchen and be able to work in at least 3 sections.
  • Have proven leadership skills to train junior members of the team and run a kitchen in a manner which motivates the team.
  • Contribute to menu development with innovative new dishes.
  • Prepare, cook, and present all dishes to the Dakota standard.
  • Be committed to working wholeheartedly as part of the team, effectively communicating with all members of the kitchen and front of house team.
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety and Food Hygiene legislation.
  • Display a willingness to learn and support across different areas of the Kitchen.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • At least three years’ experience as a Chef de Partie or above at a quality establishment
  • Passion for creating dishes using seasonal ingredients and fresh produce
  • Be able to work any 5 days out of 7
  • Previous qualifications in Food Safety are preferred, although training in Health & Safety, Allergens, and Food Hygiene standards and procedures will be given
  • Commitment to driving our ethos of doing the simple things brilliantly
