Conference and Banqueting Supervisor - The Crowne Plaza Resort, Colchester

Set amidst 320-acres of panoramic English countryside, The Crowne Plaza Resort in Colchester spans two golf courses, beautiful lakes and some of the best sports and leisure facilities in the South of England. The resort consists of 194 bedrooms, 13 Conference and Banqueting Suites, a 3500 square foot Indoor Arena, Swimming Pool, Gyms, Health Spa, two Golf Courses and a UEFA Standard Football Pitch.

We currently have a great opportunity for an Assistant Conference and Banqueting Manager to join our busy Conference and Banqueting team. Ideally you will already be an Assistant Manager or Supervisor. You must be a people person, have great communication skills, be highly organised and very standards focused.

Duties and Responsibilities:

To assist with the smooth and efficient operation of the conference & banqueting operational department, ensuring facilities are maintained to the standards required and the departmental budgeted profitability is achieved. These facilities include all conference rooms and events that are contracted, and any marquee or outside catering event/s.

To help develop a cohesive and trained team who are able to provide superior guest service and maximise revenue.

Qualifications and Requirements

Must be 18 and fluent in English.

This job requires ability to perform the following:

  • Handling, carrying or lifting items up to 50 pounds / 23 kg (bar ware, crates, boxes, bottles etc.)
  • Moving about the property in various locations including conference facilities, kitchen and bar areas.
  • Bending, stooping, kneeling and lifting

  • Ability to comply with food safety and licencing laws
  • Excellent reading and IT skills
  • Knowledge of Micros and Opera IT systems
  • Excellent maths skills as used when handling cash and credit plus managing stock
  • Have the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and / or holiday
  • Ability to work under pressure
