Assistant Restaurant Manager - Fazenda, Leeds

Leeds (LS1), Leeds

Salary: £29,600 to £33,600 per annum

We are currently looking for an experienced manager and natural leader to assist with motivating, training, coaching and managing our restaurant team at Fazenda Leeds; someone who can help drive the business forward as well as tick all the boxes relating to management admin, upholding the highest quality standards and maintaining the H&S and welfare of all those working and dining in the restaurant.

Main Responsibilities:

  • recruiting, training, coaching, mentoring and motivating staff
  • managing performance and behaviour of all team members in line with company policies and procedures
  • ensuring stock and wage budgets and targets are met
  • nurturing a culture of productivity and interdepartmental harmony
  • taking full responsibility for the management of the restaurant when on Duty Management shifts
  • complying and assisting other managers with compliance in HR stock and accounting processes
  • providing guest services including handling customer enquiries and complaints, taking reservations and greeting and advising customers in line with brand standards
  • maintaining and promoting high quality standards in terms of food, drinks, service and environment

Personal Specification:

Essential

  • Minimum of two year’s restaurant management experience
  • Self-disciplined, highly organised and resourceful
  • Proactive, pragmatic and positive in approach
  • Knowledge, understanding and experience of all departments: kitchen, grill, bar, reception and floor
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for diplomatically handling staff and customers
  • Strong written and oral communication skills for managing business admin and personnel matters
  • The ability to cope, work well and inspire confidence and calmness under pressure
  • Excellent commercial awareness for achieving successful performance
  • Teamwork skills to be able to lead a team and be a part of it
  • Strong planning and organisational skills to run a streamlined operation
  • Excellent decision-making skills
  • Problem-solving ability to resolve issues as they arise
  • Excellent attention to detail

Desirable

  • Experience of working in high quality, upmarket restaurants
  • Degree in Hospitality or Business Management or similar
  • Advanced knowledge of food and drink products, e.g. WSET qualified
