City Cruises is the leading tour boat operator on London’s River Thames. Offering a variety of services from daily sightseeing trips, lunch and evening dining cruises, afternoon tea cruises, Christmas/New Year cruises, and if you’re looking for something more exhilarating, you can climb aboard one of our Thamesjet Speedboats.
In addition to operating our modern fleet of passenger boats on the Thames, in 2014, City Cruises began operating river tours in the Dorset town of Poole which, as well as being home to Europe’s largest natural harbour, is also the location of our family friendly Harbour Station complete with a children’s play area.
In 2017 we expanded further still, this time heading north the town of York which is steeped in over 2000 years of history and which boasts more attractions per square mile than any other destination in the UK! And if you’ve ever fancied being the Captain of your own ship, in 2019 we launched our Self-Drive Red Boats. They are fantastic fun and allow you to explore the sites of York’s riverside at your own pace.
At the end of October 2019 City Cruises became the first acquisition outside the US and Canada for Hornblower UK Holdings Ltd, an American dining and excursion cruise operator based out of San Francisco. Terry MacRae, CEO of the Hornblower parent in the US commented, “We are incredibly excited to acquire City Cruises which we believe to be the best leisure cruise operator in Europe today. We have long had the ambition to enter the European market and it makes perfect sense to start our journey in one of the most iconic cities in the world.”
