We are recruiting for an Events Sales Manager to organise our company events,ranging from Golf Society Days, Weddings, Parties and other Private Functions.   

Main Responsibilities:

  • To research local market, identifying new target customers and market trends and co-ordinate sales activities
  • Conduct both new business development and account management of existing clients, building relationships in an attempt to increase their current spend
  • To assist with all organisational aspects of meetings and events from proposal to delivery including providing quotations, processing of bookings and payments, liaising with other departments, sourcing and implementation of client requirements, preparation of facilities and assisting with the delivery of events
  • To ensure effective and efficient communication to all other departments
  • Building relationships with existing clients in an attempt to increase their current spen
  • To ensure all sales related enquires are dealt with in a speedy and efficient manner
  • To deliver high quality customer service combined with a commercial focus on promoting and driving business
  • Call and visit potential customers for new business
  • To ensure all sales enquiries are dealt with in a proactive manner and converted to bookings to the agreed company standard, including proposals and follow up
  • To generate sales through Fam trips and show rounds
  • To ensure an up to date mailing list of potential business opportunities is kept by market sector, regularly reviewed and used in sales activities. An ongoing programme of mail shots and sales activities planned throughout the year
  • Represent group companies at exhibitions and events
  • Build and maintain effective database of current, past and potential customers
  • To ensure all meetings and events have company terms and conditions and are fully contracted
  • To ensure method of payment is agreed with all customers and credit maintained to the company standards
  • To co-ordinate, collate, produce and distribute the daily and weekly sales reports
  • To fully understand and be confident in the hotel, conference and function booking system and our CRM system
  • When making any sales bookings always ensure that the maximum revenue is always obtained and any opportunity to up-sell or cross sell additional facilities is followed
  • To liaise with all relevant team members and heads of departments to ensure that all amendments, late bookings and special requirements are communicated

Knowledge/Skills & Experience Required:

  • Previous experience within a similar role or within the hospitality industry is advantageous
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Confident, with good customer service skills and driven to maximise sales
  • Good all round administrative skills and be computer literate with skills in MS Office
  • Highly organised and able to work to deadlines 
  • Able to work under pressure 
  • Excellent administrative skills with strong IT skills
  • Team player with a flexible attitude
