The Estates Manager is responsible for ensuring the maintenance and improvement of the upkeep of the entire resort estate; including the grassland and woodland, the drives, paths and car parks, and the formal gardens and patios, thereby maintaining a tidy and attractive standard of appearance to create a beautiful environment for the benefit and enjoyment of Champneys’ guests.

As an Estate Manager you will be responsible for;

  • Keeping on top of and improving the appearance of the whole estate by organising regular maintenance schedules for the gardening staff, ensuring that the estate is safe, secure and well maintained at all times.
  • Managing any landscape redevelopment projects as necessary to further enhance the grounds.
  • Ensuring the maintenance of the grassed areas, shrub/perennial borders and ensure the completion of all general horticulture duties throughout the grounds by the Estates team.
  • Organising and managing the disposal of all refuse and waste from Champneys on a daily basis.
  • In extreme weather conditions ensuring that the driveways are gritted and kept clear and passable for traffic at all times
  • Ensuring the completion of administration and office work required, including any relevant paperwork and documentation necessary for the effective management of the department.
  • Recruiting, training, and taking responsibility for the day to day management of the gardening staff throughout the entire employee lifecycle.
  • Carrying out annual appraisals for the gardening and estates staff and continually motivate, support and inspire the entire team in their daily work.
  • Recommending new projects, ideas and initiatives for approval by the Resort General Manager.
  • Making guests aware of the natural beauty of the estate and conduct a guided tour of the gardens as required.
