Who we are

Chai Naasto is a popular, young and vibrant Indian street food restaurant with a 5-star hygiene rating. We are proud to have been voted the Winner for Open Table’s 2016 Diner’s Choice in our first year of opening. We have restaurants in Beckenham, Hammersmith and Harrow.

We like to listen to our street foodies and our staff, and react. That is why we are constantly striving to adapt they way we do things and evolve. Our menus change regularly and we are always open to new ideas and suggestions. We like also like to give a little something back and that is why we regularly partner up with charities and run campaigns to raise money.

The person we need

We are looking for an experienced and articulate problem-solver with a friendly manner, who loves organising things and interacting with people, to fulfil the role of Restaurant Manager at Chai Naasto.

Our customers and our staff are our greatest assets and we need someone who values people and knows how to multi-task, to not only lead our team, but get stuck in with them too! Your role as a Restaurant Manager with us will never be dull. From keeping our street foodies happy to keeping staff motivated and from coming up with new ideas to implementing restaurant campaigns; your job will be fast-paced, varied and rewarding.

We need someone who can lead by example, listen and react on their feet. Someone calm, who can keep their cool in difficult situations or when things don’t quite go to plan. A great organiser who can juggle cleaning schedules, staff rotas and a whole bunch of other lists with a smile on their face!

Skills:

  • Articulate with amazing customer service.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience working with EPOS system.
  • Confident, yet empathetic leadership & management skills with a ‘hands-on’ approach.
  • The ability to multi-task and seamlessly organise a multitude of schedules, without breaking a sweat.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced and pressured environment, whilst smiling.
  • The ability to problem-solve and react on your feet.
  • Conflict resolution.
  • The ability to spot and flag potential issues or problems before they arise and take preventative measures. Attention to detail.

Regular duties include:

  • Amazing customer service, no matter what.
  • Enforcing company policies and procedures and ensuring that local laws and excise regulations are strictly followed.
  • Aware and adherent to labour and employment laws. Recruiting, training, appraising, developing & motivating staff. Making sure staff are always aware of any promotions, menu changes, issues, etc.
  • Identifying trends on the go and planning and implementing strategies and campaigns to boost footfall and revenue.
  • Keeping track of the budget and ensuring that it is adhered to. Monthly budget reporting and weekly forecasting to the Directors. Reducing wastage and costs (without compromising on quality), wherever possible.
  • Update and accurately record the bar inventory on a daily basis.
  • Ensure that the restaurant is immaculate and ready for service before opening and at every table change.
  • Inspect equipment daily, ensure that everything is appropriately maintained and that any spoiled, broken and/or damaged equipment is not put into use and ordered, repaired and/or replaced immediately.
  • Regular meetings with the Kitchen Manager to ensure you are both in sync and aware of any issues / problems that may affect service.
  • Regular team meetings and debriefings.
  • Monthly performance and planning reports for the Directors.
  • Making sure that our street foodies are happy and well looked after.
  • Solving issues as they arise with a friendly and courteous disposition.
  • Organise staff rota and cleaning schedules.

You MUST be over 17, eligible to work in the UK and have strong written and verbal English communication skills.
