Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
- The role is commercially focused, supporting the Procurement team and providing analysis for various other senior stakeholders across the business
- The key to being successful in this role is adding value – working proactively to identify commercial opportunities across the different sectors of the business and supporting and challenging the Procurement team in their pricing strategy
- The role will take ownership of delivery of accurate monthly results and analysis for senior stakeholders, ensuring they reflect the current performance of the business and driving initiatives as required
- The role will take ownership of industry benchmarking, proactively identifying any risks and opportunities with an overarching view of the internal and external influences
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly management accounts ensuring accuracy, integrity, consistency and providing clear variance analysis
- Take ownership of the completion of monthly review packs for the Board demonstrating clear variance to budget analysis
- Be forward thinking in your approach to all monthly analysis provided to ensure packs remain relevant
- Support the buying team with category tender analysis to optimise commercial opportunity
- Be responsible for benchmarking reporting and analysis – comparing pricing to the industry benchmarking body as well as to market inflation to proactively identify under and over performance
- Work with Head of Commercial Finance on ad-hoc analysis and presentation of areas key to business strategy in response to senior stakeholder requests
- Support on providing key bid information to sales team
- Ensure team are working proactively and effectively to meet key deadlines
- Maintain adequate balance sheet controls and governance
Our ideal candidate:
• CIMA, ACCA, ACA, CIPFA qualified, ideally with 3 years PQE
• Advanced excel skills
• Previous business partnering experience
• Influential and motivational leadership capability
• Experience of working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to prioritise a changing workload and use initiative
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information with an eye for detail
• High level of integrity with a commitment to embedding a strong governance culture
• A hardworking individual with lots of energy, who can deliver high quality work to tight reporting deadlines and demonstrate a desire to progress within the Company.
• Ability to produce concise and informative reporting under tight deadlines.
