Senior Technical Controller - Shore Based - Southampton

Carnival UK are looking for a Senior Technical Controller to manage and lead an engaged team of Technical Controllers, ensuring all associated processes are documented and reviewed regularly.  You will also assist in liaising with Superintendents and service providers to co-ordinate the daily activities of the Maritime Department in all areas of Hotel, Deck and Technical maintenance in a coordinated manner.

We will be looking for this person to be responsible for:

  • Manage a central pool of Technical Controllers
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining standardised processes associated to the role of the Technical Controller
  • Liaise with service providers to establish, organise and maintain all service visits, including statutory and planned maintenance driven work in line with the Asset Management plan.
  • Act as the main point of contact for all servicing.
  • To ensure each vessel has the required level of support to enable the vessel to deliver their areas of accountability to plan.
  • Maintain a planner (MoS) for forward planning to ensure timely requests, both OCS and passes, are made via Admin support.
  • Liaise with ships staff to ensure the timely delivery of required urgent parts for all planned/unplanned service visits.
  • Assist Superintendents with logistical and service intervention for crisis management.
  • Timely delivery to Office Administration request for travel with forward planning as the main goal.
  • Act as first point of contact with Supply Management with reference to input of Technical knowledge.
  • Attend and assist as necessary during projects, dry docks and wet docks.
  • Continuous review for improvement and Implementation of asset management plans within areas of responsibility.

About You:

  • Educated to at least A level standard
  • AMOS trained
  • A recognised qualification in management
  • Experience of leading an effective team
  • Experience of working in a fast paced marine technical environment
  • Experience of working with computer-based planned maintenance systems
  • An understanding of shipboard purchasing and logistics operations
  • An understanding of SOLAS and its requirements.
