Maintenance Assistant - Cameron House and Carrick Lodges

(NMW/NLW, 16hrs p/w, typically Saturday and Sunday)

Cameron House lodges offer an exceptional range of one, two, three and four bedroom luxury self-catering lodges, each luxury lodge has spacious bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, covered balconies and unrivalled views of Loch Lomond. Part of the world-renowned five-star resort Cameron House our luxury lodges can be found both alongside the Hotel and the Carrick Golf and Spa area of the Resort.

The Maintenance Assistant will work under the direction of the Assistant Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Manager to ensure that routine maintenance and repairs are performed as directed, ensuring the assets and equipment within the resort are operating at maximum efficiency in order to achieve high levels of guest satisfaction.

The Maintenance Assistant will be expected to work to the Cameron Values at all times, ensuring they are Consistent, Accountable, Motivated, Excellent, Respectful, Opportunistic and Nurturing; always working to the goal of achieving our vision to be “Scotland’s leading destination resort”.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for maintenance checks on Lodges prior to check-in, ensuring that our Lodges are in full-working order and suitable for our guests. You will be responsible for checking a large number of factors, that include but are not limited to:

  • Lodges approaches - ensuring the paths are clear, clean and safe
  • Ensuring that the front door handles and locks are in good working order and the external light and doorbell are in good working order
  • Checking switches and sockets ensuring they are all operational and in good condition
  • Ensuring the general appearance of walls and ceilings in all areas of the lodge are up to standard
  • Check floor tiles for cracks and general condition, check for trip hazards and check threshold covers for trip hazards
  • Sauna – check for smooth operation, check lights are operational and in good order, check benches for damage, ensure heat source/coal elements, clear of debris and ensure on/off switch is working properly
  • General consumer units – check that they are in good working condition, check and test that all smoke detectors are working properly, check all radiators are in good working order and are fitted properly to the wall, check TV’s are functioning properly, check DVD is working properly, check sound system is operational and all sockets are level and in good working order

Experience and Qualifications

No official trade qualifications are required for this post however candidates must be able to demonstrate experience in a similar role and a desire to further their career within a Maintenance Department.

All Maintenance Assistants may be required to use a PC and smartphone or tablet in their day-to-day role and therefore must possess basic computing skills.

The Maintenance Assistant may be required to drive throughout the resort and should hold a full, valid driving licence
