Elmbank Hotel, York

At Cairn Group we’re ambitious. With a varied and extensive UK portfolio of hotels, bars and restaurants in our portfolio, we’re focused on continual growth and are in it for the long haul. We are a family owned business with family values at our core, with a growing team and sites UK wide.

About the role…

You will be responsible for welcoming guests and customers to the hotel, checking them in and making any reservation changes as required.
You will also undertake night security checks around the hotel, basic cleaning and laundry duties and ensure a full handover to the morning porter/DM or receptionist. You will need to be confident with handling cash/credit transactions and cash reconciliation. You will be responsible for setting up and taking down meeting and conference rooms to the required standards. We believe our people are the key to excellent service delivery and our success depends on them.

About you…

The successful candidate will have previous reception and night working experience ideally within a hotel environment with an outgoing personality, excellent communication skills and excellent command of the English language. Ideally you will have knowledge of Opera thus to aid our guests.

This hotel from the Cairn Group looks as spectacular today as it did when it was built in 1870, thanks in part to the stained glass windows and oak staircase that have remained there for the past 150 years. With an elegant restaurant and cocktail bar that catches the eye with hints of its Victorian heritage, you will be no more than a mile away from the centre of York and all of the history that this city holds.
