Sales & Events Coordinator - Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire

Job Type: Full Time - 40 hours per week

Reports To: Estate Sales & Events Manager

Overview:

Brocket Hall are looking for an enthusiastic Events & Sales Coordinator to join our busy events team.

Working closely with the Estate Sales & Events Administrator and Estate Sales & Events Manager, your role will be to manage enquiries and maximise sales in this 5* establishment as well as coordinating and upselling all types of Events across the Estate.

You will be an ambassador of Brocket Hall in presenting a professional, positive and helpful attitude.

Job Purpose: To co-ordinate and up sell all types of Events across the Estate.

Duties Will Include:

  • Managing event enquiries from start to finish; Sending appropriate literature, quotations etc., promptly to prospective clients;
  • Will be responsible for all types of events, such as Weddings, Golf Days, Conferences etc.
  • Working closely with clients to finalise all the details for the event to produce a detailed programme to be issued to all required appropriate staff;
  • To be presence on the day of events when required, offering a friendly meet & greet and ensuring transition to the Operations Team
  • Call handling
  • Cross-selling across the Estate;
  • Maintain an up-to-date database of all clients, past and present; Maintain accurate documentation regarding enquiries, bookings, cancellations & lost business on a daily basis;
  • Working closely with the Events Administrator to produce accurate confirmation documentation i.e., booking agreements & accurate post event billing;
  • Reactive Sales;
  • Conduct professional show rounds of the Estate as required and to be knowledgeable of the Estate and its facilities;
  • Produce daily, weekly or monthly reports as required;
  • Work closely and proactively with the Operations Team;
  • Assist with the implementation of promotional ideas to increase sales revenue;
  • To be meticulous with all correspondence – both internally and externally;
  • Maintain an up-to-date file on competitors for marketing analysis;
  • Maintain an effective line of communication with all clients;
  • To adhere to all statutory requirements, fire, health and safety and hygiene;
  • Be fully conversant with the Staff Handbook. Ensure that all standards and codes of conduct are adhered to.

Working Hours

  • 40 hours per week (equates to 42.5hours to include 30min unpaid break)
  • Working 5 out of 7 days per week on a rota basis, predominately between the hours of 8am and 6pm

Candidate Profile:

  • Previous Sales and/or Events background
  • Excellent, concise and professional telephone manner essential;
  • Must possess exceptional communication skills;
  • Must be self-motivated and a positive team player
  • Strong Organisational Skills
  • Knowledge or a background in golf is desirable but not essential
  • Computer literate - Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook
