Boys Hall has already been described as one of the hottest new openings of 2022, with fantastic write ups and editorial – and we haven’t even opened yet!

“Boys Hall, a new boutique hotel housed inside a Jacobean manor house, will open this June following a careful restoration. Set amid three acres of gardens, the family-owned property features a 70-cover oak-beamed restaurant with two outside terraces, a wood-clad pub, multiple reception rooms and private dining spaces and 10 ensuite bedrooms.

Grade-II listed Boys Hall was originally built in 1616 and has been renovated under husband-and-wife team, Bradley and Kristie Lomas.

The restaurant will centre around seasonal, local produce and feature daily changing dishes which champion elevated takes on home-cooked favourites. We will be working with local vineyards and wine will become every much a focus…

The aim is to create the most memorising experience for all guests. Our wonderful Head Chef is now looking for a Sous chef to join his growing team

YOU:

  • Minimum 3 year’s experience as head pastry chef in a similar role (restaurant)
  • Responsible for the smooth running of the pastry section
  • Prepare all desserts, decoration of the plated desserts, ice creams, pastry, cakes, baked goods, and bread for the kitchen
  • Ability to lead a CDP and help develop their skills and knowledge to be responsible for their section
  • The relevant certificates in Food Safety & Hygiene
  • Experience of working in a high-volume restaurant kitchen
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Excellent core knowledge of classic patisserie
  • Good core knowledge of modern techniques
  • Innovative and creative flare
  • Work with head chef on new dish development

Qualifications

Essential ;

  • NVQ Level 3

Preferred ;

  • International Culinary Arts – Pastry
  • Foundation Degree – Level 4, 5
