Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week

Salary: £33,000 per annum

BH Live is excited to announce that they are now recruiting for an Operations Manager based at Mountbatten Centre in Portsmouth. The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the provision of excellent customer service and safe operation of Mountbatten, Portsmouth Tennis, and Portsmouth Gymnastic Centres through day-to-day management. To be the primary contact for all customers ensuring the needs of the customer a fully met in line with the BH Live customer experience. The ideal candidate will have previous experience within the leisure sector.

Main Duties Include:

  • To support the Cluster Manager by being the site lead for the supervision and management, direction, and co-ordination of all front-line staff within the complex in a professional manner, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation of all facilities.
  • To support with all the people issues involved within the operational team to include the recruitment, selection, training, development, and discipline.
  • Ensure the team administer an effective routine problem and fault-handling system for the centre and ensure priority faults are dealt with in the shortest time possible by the Technical Assistant.
  • To ensure the needs of customers are achieved and the highest standards of customer service is maintained.
  • Ensure each department has the appropriate complement of roistered staff and be responsible for the co-ordination of reactive shift cover for the centre.
  • Undertake return to work interviews with front line staff as necessary.

Skills and Experience:

  • We are looking for someone with a genuine passion for providing outstanding customer service, with excellent communication skills and who is a positive team player.
  • Ability to manage and motivate teams and individuals
  • Ability to communicate appropriately with staff and customers at all levels
  • Practical experience of supervising/managing staff within a service industry
