We have a brand new opportunity to join us as part of the Bermondsey team – Operations Support Manager South. Candidates will have experience of running a great pub and will now be ready to share their knowledge to support General Manager’s at New Openings, Refreshes and where General Managers are new to the role.

A positive attitude, energy and enthusiasm, along with the ability to quickly build great relationships are a must. Ability to work flexible hours and a full driving licence required. In return, we offer salary up to £30,000 (depending on experience), company car, bonus and pension. And lots of fun!

Job Purpose

To work shoulder to shoulder with our General Managers to support at New Openings, Turnaround sites & new appointments in role. To support and coach to ensure that process and compliance is delivered in line with company expectations. To support the project and openings team in all aspects of their day to day roles to ensure that everything is delivered with excellence.

Core Accountabilities

  • To provide short term support in undertaking the turnaround or project reset actions required at a pub
  • To support new managers into pub within their first few days
  • To be the experience in pub on new openings to support the General Manager in opening week
  • To assist in management of new teams, including setting up on Fourth, completing work books and assisting in managing their transition into Bermondsey
  • To support delivery days and blitz days for new openings
  • To support 1st stock take with Field Trainer, wet and dry
  • Report any property/supplier issues to the Launch Manager
  • Support new General Managers in making their three month sales plan live
  • Support opening audit actions & assist GM with completion of the compliance folder & documentation required
  • Complete with a new GM End of week procedure and weekly envelope support
  • Support GM & trainer with any AM training required
  • Post launch support for 1 week after pub opens
  • Raise any issues from launch manager handover to GM
  • Support launch manager on keep in touch days if required
  • Provide feedback to Openings team on all visits
  • Identify process improvement or issues noted in current policy
  • Support in training in large business wide adhoc projects
  • Liaise with Operations Manager around support required post opening
  • Where required, carry out short term GM holds to support the business

Skills and Knowledge

  • Experience of running a pub business at Assistant Manager level or above
  • Ability to cover a large geography
  • Passion for being service lead
  • Excellent communicator, with both team members and guests
  • Organisational and planning skills
  • Understanding and experience of managing Profit & Loss account
  • Ability to adapt and deliver in a fast paced environment
  • Experience of leading, developing and coaching a team
  • Confidence, energy and a determination to succeed
  • Passion for delivering outstanding service
