A rare opportunity to join a small passionate team using the very best produce and equipment but allowing for a better work life balance. Generally shifts run from Mon-Fri 7-4pm with some evening work required for chef tables and dinners.

Working alongside and reporting to the Executive chef you will be tasked with ensuring the smooth day to day running of the kitchen and involved in the planning of the monthly changing seasonal menu. The menu is built around British seasonal produce using the best ingredients from small producers wherever possible and a real focus on reduced wastage using as much of the raw product as possible.

The roles would suit candidates with strong restaurant backgrounds and experience in a Michelin kitchen is preferable but not essential depending on the candidate. Our Executive Chef has spent the last 10 years working in some of the best restaurants in the country ensuring that staff are constantly learning and developing whilst also being allowed to bring their own ideas and dishes to the fore.

What would we like from our Sous Chefs?

  • Display a real passion for food
  • Previous experience within a demanding kitchen at the relevant level
  • Team player with the ability to manage the team when Head Chef is absent
  • Ability to manage costs, negotiate and build relationships with suppliers
  • Compliant from both a Food Hygiene and Food Safety perspective
  • Relevant qualifications

Sous Chef requirements:

  • Assist the Head Chef in the kitchen operation
  • Look at the development and planning of menus, including future food trends
  • Develop new styles of service and concepts in the location
  • Compile all food orders for your sections, ensuring food standards and cost are agreed with the Head Chef
  • Ensure stock, deliveries and wastage are all checked and recorded in line with company and food standards
