What we need in a nutshell

We want our guest to have a wonderful holiday – safely. And we want our team of holiday heroes to know that they too, are working in a safe environment. As Park Safety Administrator you will be the person who upholds those safety standards.

Some of the background

We’re not your average holiday company. Our guests come to our UK resorts to experience a world away from their day-to-day. When they are with us, they play crazy games, enjoy show-stopping entertainment and live in the moment. Our job is to surprise and delight them at every turn.

We need you to be the person who delivers delight by ensuring our guests and our staff are safe. You will keep our Parks Safety Programme and H&S policies up to date and properly implemented, making sure that every person in the team is aware of their responsibilities.

The nitty gritty of what you’ll be doing

Working as part of our slightly bonkers team of holiday heroes, you will be in one of the most important ‘behind the scenes’ roles. Reporting to the park General Manager, your objective will be to keep guests safe while they are enjoying their holiday and to keep staff safe in their work. This will involve:

  • Ensuring that the H&S policies up to date and they are properly implemented across the park
  • Managing the Parks Safety Programme for the park and contributing ideas and innovations that will continue to improve it
  • Keeping up to date H&S records and administering H&S training records, accident records, H&S documentation for third parties and H&S checks, and ensuring full compliance
  • Liaising with on-the-ground staff, managers within in the company, contractors and other third parties to ensure clear communication of policies and speedy resolution of complaints and issues
  • Coaching individuals to fulfil their potential, develop their capabilities and enhance their contribution to the team and to the company.

One more thing…holidays happen at holiday times, so you will need to work your magic on weekends and bank holidays too.

Skills, experience and qualities you’ll need

We’ll provide training, but you must be able to demonstrate:

  • A good standard of education, ideally A Level or equivalent
  • Higher national qualification or equivalent in administration
  • Previous experience in an administrative role in a similar environment
  • Health & Safety experience
  • A good level of IT literacy, and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, to include Word, Outlook and Excel.

You will be organised and able to plan ahead, while being able to absorb change confidently. You will be someone who can solve problems calmly and intelligently and you will have great communication skills, able to create open and trusting relationships with managers and staff members. As the safety guru onsite, you will also be assertive and able to command respect.

It’s about your values too. We have a can-do, fun loving, people centred ethos here at Away Resorts, which is captured by our holiday heroes’ mantra of Attentive Amazing Lovers – if that’s fired up your curiosity, have a read about it here and decide if it describes you.

Nice to have but not essential

It would be great if you tick some of these boxes too (but we won’t hold it against you if you don’t).

  • Experience in the hospitality sector
  • Experience of working at a holiday park
