Senior Server Engineer / Technical Expert
Do you have a background as a Senior Server Engineer within a Projects environment? If so, then we would love to hear from you.
We are looking for an individual who would relish the opportunity of providing senior level support within one of the largest Enterprise networks in the world. This is a senior role in the Server team working on server / storage projects (design and build), as well as providing 3rd line support for the Operations team when needed.
VMWare VCP level certification is desirable, alternatively we’d be interested if you have a similar level of capability gained through experience.
What you’ll be responsible for:Responsible for delivering fit for purpose designs based on requirements.Engaging with project managers and other teams to ensure that server & storage solutions land without issue & in line with all service requirements.When required support the Operations team in resolving high impact, or technically challenging problems.Put security at the heart of the solutions created.Build effective working relationships with WalMart peers.Ensure all builds are fully documented, with a comprehensive handover to the Operations team.
About you:Advanced knowledge of Server technologies including VMWare, Microsoft Server 2012 / 2016 etc.Desirable to have working knowledge of Linux.Administration & configuration of clustering and virtualisation technology.Experience of delivering server based solutions from the initial design through build, and handing over into Operations.
