Assistant Buyer – Buying AssistantSocks and Hosiery - George Clothing
Based at George home office in Lutterworth
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experience Assistant Buyer to join our team! You’ll take ownership for buying your own product range with the opportunity of travel! You will be part of a large cross functional team, so you’ll have a strong team work ethic and enjoy developing working relationships. This role provides many opportunities to further develop your technical buying and negotiation skills. It’s the perfect opportunity for an experienced Buying Assistant/Assistant Buyer who’s already gained experience within a retail buying environment, who’s looking for a new challenge and that next step in your trading career.
What you’ll be responsible for:
· Build strong relationships with our supply base to develop product concepts across the total range· Work closely with the Buyer/Buying Manager providing input into range plans and taking responsibility for administration of relevant buying information i.e. point of sale, lab dips, gold seals & amendments· Be responsible for reporting on best & worst sellers weekly & seasonally· Prepare for key department meetings i.e. selection and product meetings· Responsible for own range price negotiation· Be responsible for critical path management & weekly progressing of all product lines, providing information flow between teams & supplier· Contribute and manage products fits/overall look, ideally with an awareness of garment construction· Knowledge of market strategy, customer and competitor profiles· Management of PR sampling and with the Buyer, administrate marketing & trading activity· Responsible for completion of monthly competitor reports· Understand competitor pricing strategy and George positioning within the market place About you:
You’ll possess a keen eye for trend, live and breathe ‘fashion’ and be excited to see your products on sale across the shop floor. You’ll have experience ideally gained within retail buying or product development. · Strong organisation & administration skills, coupled with the ability to problem solve· Ability to prioritize effectively, work at pace and demonstrate an attention to detail with good numerical, planning and analytical skills· You’ll possess a keen eye for trend, be passionate about fashion and relish in seeing your products on sale across the shop floor· You will be capable of working directly with suppliers, be an excellent team player with good communication skills Your benefits:You’ll receive an excellent benefits package which includes colleague discount off your shopping, share save scheme & competitive pension.
