IT Project Manager – 2 Year Fixed Term

Do you have a broad IT Project Management background within a large organisation? If so, then we would love to hear from you.

This is an exciting time at George, part of Asda. You will be working on a large scale business transformation programme, playing a vital part in the delivery of a large SAP implementation. You don’t need previous experience with SAP, but you need to be a strong IT Project Manager and have excellent stakeholder management skills.

Whilst this is a 2 year fixed term contract, our Technology team is expanding every year and you could be presented with a number of opportunities along the way.

What you’ll be responsible for:
    Working closely with George business to deliver functionality against workstreams.Creating and delivering project plans and prioritisation of project activity to meet the overall business programme objectivesManaging the project stage gates in accordance with the Asda project management best practice and the Lifecycle methodology. Mixture of both Agile and hybrid Waterfall.Identifying and communicating project risks, concerns and issues and escalating to the Programme ManagerTaking responsibility for the delivery a number of workstream deliverables.Gaining a strong understanding of prioritising and managing the changes to scope, timescales, costs, resourcing and 3rd partiesDelivering products in a serviceable state including hand-over to service support teamsNegotiating and influencing across a number of different geographies and time zones to remove political, financial and resource constraints. Working with Wal-Mart colleagues in the US. Preparing and delivering regular project communications to all key stakeholdersMaintaining the project risk log, ensuring appropriate actions are in place to manage the risks in accordance to their priority across the programme lifecycle

About you:
You’ll have a broad IT Project Management background with a proven track record of project delivery using Waterfall and Agile. You’ll have a proven track record of managing cross functional resource and worked within in a large organisation (preferably retail) against large project budgets. Knowledge of SAP projects would be useful, but this is desirable and not essential.
