Alton Towers Resort is on the lookout for a Security Controller to support the Security and Loss prevention department in provision of incident response in line with legal requirements, company procedures and health & safety guidelines.

 Key Objectives:

To ensure the health, safety and welfare of all persons visiting or working on the Alton Towers Resort and ensuring the protection of all assets.

To prevent loss to the company and its guests from unlawful activity, including theft and procedural deviation continually striving to exceed targets in line with customer expectations.

To demonstrate a positive can do attitude towards all areas of the Business and ensure that the Merlin and Alton Towers resort values are followed and maintained.

To maintain physical and mental ability to complete the primary task of the security officer / CCTV operator / controller

To be an exemplary role model and inspirational team player who takes great pride in their role.

 

 Main Responsibilities:

§  Support the safe and secure operation of Park and Hotel Security according to Codes of Practice, legislation and guidelines.

§  Man the security CCTV  and Control Room

§  To effectively control security patrols and incidents on the Resort

§  Have clear and effective communication skills and maintain proper procedures using the Resort radio communication system.

§  Effectively monitor the CCTV systems in a proactive role

§  Download CCTV and provide evidence packages in support of prosecutions.

§  Maintain a detailed and accurate log of all incidents in the DOB and any other relevant location

§  Ensure that best practice for security control room is adhered to including restricting access to non authorised personnel

§  Ensure that all medical incidents which require medical vehicles on park are reported to the park incident manager and park coach

§  Provide support to incident controller and emergency services co-ordinator.

§  When required perform ‘security officer’ duties, patrol all areas of the Resort, monitoring activity in all areas including car parks and perimeter fence. High visibility patrols of rides and retail/F&B outlets

§  Respond to incidents including RTCs, public disorder, medical incidents, theft, and lost children.

§  To assist the Loss prevention Team Leaders in their tasks

§  Complete personnel and vehicle searches including searches of contractor vehicles on ingress and egress from the resort

§  Input data onto the security and loss prevention databases

§  Complete the company control and restraint course and ensure the proper use of force when required but only as a last resort

§  Perform the morning ‘greet’ at gate one barrier when required

§  Cash collections from all designated areas.

§  Demonstrate clear verbal communication whilst answering the security telephone and dealing with guests, contractors and staff

§  Man Farley gate when required

§  Support the night function when required

§  Statement and report writing to a high standard

§  Attend court when required

§  Man the gate control at gate one security lodge on a rota basis.

§  Report any visitors or employees that appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

§  Carry out administrative and cleaning duties (including of Security vehicles) as required.

§  Ensure all contractors comply with all relevant legislation, codes of practice and company procedures.

§  Ensure consistently superior standards of security operation.

§  Provide support to the daily operation (guest interaction, magic moments and incidents, etc.). Ensure guest satisfaction and suitable recovery where necessary.

§  Support of rescue and evacuation activities when necessary.

 

The role is full time permanent, averaging 40 hours per week and will include weekends and bank holidays as required.
