Field Teacher - Stratford
£15 - £20 an hour
Are you able to deliver interesting and motivating outdoor activity programmes ? Can you turn the open spaces in Newham into a range of outdoor events? We are looking for someone who is a self starter, creative, has great problem solving skills, and a general understanding of natural environment, and outdoor spaces and outdoor play to lead, engage and inspire young to participate in a range of outdoor education activities.
You must have in depth knowledge of:
- nature conservation issues and practical habitat management
- the local community of Newham
- the importance of outdoor education and the wider benefits
- the national curriculum
This work will take you around the various parks and open spaces in Newham in East London, where you will be responsible for delivering school and community activities at the East Ham Nature Reserve, and managing large groups including corporate volunteers and visitors from schools.
The role will focus on delivering schools educational workshops and community volunteering sessions during school holiday periods and weekends. The hours will vary according to time of year and activity programme.
A teaching, Early Years, Youth Work or Play Work qualification at Level 2 or above (not essential)
