Recreation Assistant

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join Southampton Outdoor Sports Centre. We are looking for an exceptional staff member who is dynamic, self motivated and reliable.

The Outdoor Sports Centre is set in 50 acres of land hosting football, cricket, synthetic, tennis and athletic facilities. The centre caters for adults, children and families as well as a broad range of clubs and organised groups.

YOU WILL:

• Be looking for a ‘foot in the door’ to the Sports and Leisure industry
• Be passionate about sport and exercise, particularly in an outdoor setting and be able to inspire people to take part in meaningful activities
• As part of a team you will need to use your excellent observational skills to ensure we deliver the highest standards in health and safety and service quality
• Demonstrate unwavering attention to detail as you help to achieve the highest possible levels of cleanliness and customer satisfaction

• Main Duties .

• To set up sports pitches at various venues.
• Cleaning of changing facilities and outside areas
• To answer the telephone as per the Active Nation standards and ensure information is passed
• To take bookings
• To promote all activities, and campaign on behalf of Active Nation & have conversations with all supporters about our products at the centre.     
• To deal with stage one of customer complaints.     
• To supervise activity sessions as appropriate, providing clear instructions to all participants
• To contribute to the security of the site and premises whilst on shift by challenging unidentified visitors, returning equipment after use and complying with cash handling regulations.   
• To undertake manual handling duties which include moving goods, materials and equipment.    
• To inspect equipment on a regular basis reporting defects as per Centre procedures.     

To undertake any general duties ensuring that all check sheets are completed and signed accordingly.
