Group Exercise Coordinator

Active Nation is a campaigning charity on a mission to persuade the Nation to be Active. In partnership with South Derbyshire Council, we campaign through the venues at Green Bank and Etwall Leisure Centre and work with a brilliant team to positively benefit the local community and beyond.

We are looking for a high calibre group exercise coordinator to work alongside the Contract Exercise Leader to lead our extensive group exercise proposition across the two venues.   We need someone who demonstrates:

  • Results focus – achievement of participation and commercial objectives
  • Team leadership skills – being a BRILLIANT leader
  • Experienced in running a group exercise programme
  • Health and wellness experience and community engagement knowledge.
  • Teaches group exercise classes currently. 

The Role

The Group Exercise Coordinator position develops, coordinates, manages and evaluates the group exercise program at Green Bank and Etwall Leisure Centre maximise participation, all Group Exercise opportunities and supporter satisfaction.

  • Oversees all programming within group exercise: coordinates the development, implementation and delivery of activities, promotions, programs and special events.
  • Facilitates the close alignment of programs across the two venues.
  • Promotes program offerings and conducts outreach activities to increase participation and re-engage inactive participants.
  • Coordinates marketing of programs to maximise outreach and engagement.
  • Supervises group exercise program delivery; ensures staff are properly qualified, trained and certified and monitored for quality assurance.
  • Gathers program outcomes data and measures results; evaluates and reports on program effectiveness in meeting objectives and makes recommendations for future program enhancements or modifications.
  • Researches health & fitness educational topics within their specified areas and identifies appropriate participant educational materials.
  • Participates in business planning and budgeting process relating to program and service offerings in their area of expertise.
  • Provides individual and group exercise instruction as applicable; educates participants on proper techniques to maximise exercise safety and effectiveness.    
  • Teaches a range of classes to support the exsisting program.
