Purpose:

Aberdeen Sports Village wishes to recruit an enthusiastic and passionate individual to complement its busy café team. The ideal candidate will be friendly and outgoing, with excellent customer service skills and flexible in their approach to work, assisting across both cafes.

Previous experience is desirable however not essential.

Grade:  £10.30 per hour

Hours of work: Casual

Description of Duties:

• Opening and closing of both cafes. The catering assistant works both independently and as part of a team.
• Uphold high standards of food safety and food hygiene.
• Uphold high standards of personal hygiene and uniform standards. 
• The catering assistant will provide high levels of customer care, service excellence and will assist with any customer feedback taking responsibility for the customer experience. 
• Provide an excellent and positive customer journey for all customer groups (non-members, members, students and staff). 
• The catering assistant will typically cover a seven-day week that may include weekends, early mornings, evenings and public holidays and will report to the Food and Beverage Manager
• Process card payments through the till.
• Have a flexible attitude to working hours and work while ASV host world class sporting events. 
• Ensuring all food service areas are kept clean to meet the highest standards in accordance with all food hygiene legislation and law.
• Prepare food according to food and hygiene regulations.
• Ensure all deliveries are received in accordance to set guidelines and our stock and order system is adhered to accurately.
• Upsell café drink and food products to increase café sales and push café promotions.
• Clean as you go (both front and back of house).
• Report faults or shortages in equipment to your line manager.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and ASV regulations regarding Health & Safety, Food Hygiene etc.
• Ensure all wastage is properly recorded.
• Help the team to promote café standards in line with the operating procedures.
• Follow and promote all health and safety guidelines and make the management team aware of any concerns in this area. 
• Support and encourage effective and honest communication and trading, in line with ASV’s values. Ensure that any instances of business malpractice are reported.  
• Any other duties reasonably requested by your line manager.
