Active Lifestyles Instructor - Huntingdonshire Council - Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire

The One Leisure Active Lifestyles team run an extensive exercise programme focussing improving health particularly for those requiring additional support to exercise.

We are seeking individuals with relevant qualifications (equivalent to REPS Level 3 and/or 4) and experience of delivering and developing physical activity opportunities to specialist population groups to join the team.

The team currently deliver classes around the district, ranging from seated classes, through to strength and balance, and older adult circuits. Alongside these, the team offer specialised classes including Cardiac Rehabilitation, Cancer Rehabilitation and Postural Stability.

You will need to be flexible, confident delivering activity, and good at building relationships. Good IT and administration skills to support record keeping alongside a high level of attention to detail are essential.

If you hold the relevant qualifications and are keen to work in a team of likeminded people to support people keeping active, then this opportunity is perfect for you.

Above all, it is essential that you demonstrate behaviours in line with our values and passion and a commitment to continually seek to innovate and develop our workforce, which will, in turn, enable us to succeed in our strategic ambitions.

This role will be based across our 5 One Leisure sites (Huntingdon, Ramsey, St Ives x2 and St Neots) and also local community venues throughout the district. This is a variable hours position and our classes typically run between 9am and 6pm, 5 days per week. Please note you must be able to travel between the sites.

At HDC we want to employ staff who embody our icare values (Inspiring, Collaborative, Accountable, Respectful, Enterprising) all of which support our ultimate purpose of putting our customers first.

Please note that the official closing date is as above and will be the correct date. Some third party websites may have different dates so please always refer to the HDC website for the official closing date to ensure you do not miss out on applying.

For many of our roles (and where it is possible) we are currently working remotely and anticipate in the future returning to a hybrid office model on a flexible basis. This will still include work from home and flexi-time opportunities in order to provide a good work life balance whilst still ensuring that teams benefit from in person interaction. Candidates should therefore be within commutable distance of our offices in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire or able to attend meetings as required if further afield.

As an employer who values diversity of thought, we seek to employ candidates from a range of backgrounds in order to make our organisation more innovative. We are seeking candidates who are looking for their next career opportunity and are a supportive employer, enabling our staff to work in an environment that produces high standards of work in an employee-led environment.

Equality, diversity and inclusion is at the heart of our recruitment and along with our values we are committed to creating an inclusive working environment, where diversity is valued and there is equality of opportunity. We therefore welcome applications from all sections of the community and we offer a range of benefits, including flexitime, to encourage a work life balance.
