 About Us

We are looking for an experienced Head Chef who is used to working in a high volume fresh food business, to join our team at the Red Lion, Malpas. The Red Lion is currently closed for a multi-million-pound refurbishment and on re-opening will serve a fresh food menu, comprising some of the British classics, dishes with a contemporary twist and daily specials. In addition to the everyday food offer the Red lion will have a function room, suitable as a venue for weddings and other celebrations, as well as 16 en-suite rooms.           

The Red Lion is managed by 16 Hospitality, an independent hospitality group operating unique and characterful premium restaurants in the North West of England and North Wales. The Role Head Chef 

The successful Head Chef will have worked in a high volume fresh food business, being used to delivering £15k+ each week in food sales. You will enjoy a busy hands-on role in the kitchen and will be obsessive in ensuring that all dishes reaching the guest are of the highest standard.  As a Head Chef you will report to the General Manager, working together to develop specials and liase with guests to develop bespoke menus for the function room. As a Head Chef you have high standards and expect the same of your team, ensuring that hygiene, health & safety and food safety in the kitchen are never compromised.  You enjoy working with people and have solid leadership skills, with the ability to motivate your team and develop their skills from within.

About You

·Previous experience as a Head Chef in a high volume fresh food business, used to producing £15k+ each week in food sales.

·Excellent cooking skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure

-Essential that you have fresh food experience and able to develop specials.

·A passion for food and delivering great food quality.

·Leadership qualities with the enthusiasm and charisma to motive your team

·Strict adherence to food hygiene and health & safety regulations

·Excellent communication skills

·Enthusiastic, strong work ethic and hunger to learn

·Minimum level 2 food hygiene.
