Position: Commis Chef
Location: 1 Warwick, Soho
Salary: £12.00 Per Hour
Days / Hours Per Week:  Flexible
Bonus: £450 gross sign in bonus

The kitchen team at Mortimer House are looking for a Commis Chef to join them in delivering our food offering across our beautiful art deco inspired private members house including our event and workspaces and our public facing restaurant, Mortimer House Kitchen.

Your New Commis Chef Role:

You will be vibrant and passionate about exciting our guests through their culinary experience. You may not have much experience in the kitchen, but you will know the basics and will be eager to learn. You will strive for perfection in all that you do, further skills desired for the successful appointment of a Commis Chef:

• Has basic knowledge of a kitchen and is eager to learn to develop their role (desirable but not mandatory as full training will be given)
• Can follow instruction to deliver their tasks to a high standard
• Wants to develop their experience by working within a fine dining environment
• A great communicator that manages their time well
• Thirst for knowledge and is a proactive question asker
• Has good knife skills and knowledge of all food safety measures to ensure we deliver a safe kitchen, that does not endanger our team or guests
• Follows proper safety guidelines and sanitation practices following the principles of HACCP  
• Ensures kitchen areas and equipment are maintained to the highest possible standard
• Assists in cleaning, clearing, washing within the kitchen, including deep cleaning
• Take responsibility for their duties which will include but will not be limited to preparation of food, stock control, portion control and minimizing wastage.
• Understands food storage guidelines
