This role will not only create dishes and concept ideas which meet the needs of your brand but you will also embody the principle that our Guests will be at the heart of everything we develop and deliver.

The Development Chef is a role which provides an individual with high exposure amongst our brands and will take into account the following responsibilities:


Monitor your brand's top selling dishes, food NPS and diner complaint feedback and to advise the Executive Chef where necessary the corrective course of action to ensure that the food platform is delivered against the brand propositions


Be totally aware of competitor food innovations, key menu and seasonal changes and activities and to advise the business when necessary the corrective course of action.


Ensure that all new dishes are developed taking into account your brand back of house, skill base, head count, equipment capability and storage, working in conjunction with Kitchen Design Manager

Provide a holistic view of your brand to ensure that best practices are shared across brands and product efficiencies are optimised e.g. pack size optimisation and economies of scale

To ensure that the Food, Drink & Beverage Coaches are advised and trained to the correct level to ensure their total understanding when compiling new dish/menu communication and coaching materials in order to facilitate effective menu launches

To fully involve the NSF Food Safety Advisor to maintain and ensure compliance to Legal, Food, Health & Safety and Due Diligence for all new menu activity

Our Guests are at the heart of everything we develop and deliver and that is no exception as a Development Chef. You will need to ensure that:


Menus dishes that are continually being improved and updated on a cost neutral food platform where appropriate

Legal, Food, Health & Safety and Due Diligence for all menu activity is maintained


You take accountability of the production of accurate dish specifications

Team Member Coaching is embedded in your role

The development kitchen is maintained and all health and safety practices are adhered to

You contribute to the successful delivery of food show / demonstrations against the brands proposition and food platforms

Working closely with Menu Analyst Manager to ensure all dishes/menus deliver the budgeted agreed cash and % margin within the menu model

Are you the right person for the Development Chef role? Then we would also expect you to have:

* Kitchen & Craft management skill whilst working to precise timelines
* Effective communication and organisational skills
* Awareness of revenue contribution required from menus and food technology
* Operational Management Experience and kitchen experience
* Multi brand or multi product experience in a Kitchen and to have developed food within the food service sector
