Welcome to The Mitre, a beautiful traditional pub in Lancaster Gate opposite Hyde Park in Central London.

Our food is all cooked fresh on site and ranges from the great British pub classics to fantastic seasonal dishes. Chefs within Young’s pubs have the freedom to create their own menus and specials, with a big focus on British, seasonal produce. We encourage creativity within our kitchen teams and specialise in using only fresh ingredients.

At The Mitre, we have three distinct floors each with a unique food and drink offering, our classic London pub, premium restaurant and “speak easy” cocktail bar.

Our food offer reflects our emphasis on high quality seasonal British food, locally sourced and prepared in-house and our Head Chefs and their team have the autonomy to deliver their own individual dishes according to the needs and wants of our customers.

As the successful Sous Chef you will have a passion & flare for producing quality fresh food in a busy kitchen environment. You will have experience working in a similar environment and demonstrate a passion for leading and developing a team to deliver outstanding food every time. You will be an active team player with excellent communication skills and be responsible and able to manage the kitchen safely and effectively at all times. Working alongside our Head Chef you will be able to demonstrate your creativity and ability by helping to design and deliver new dishes for our menus and daily specials, whilst demonstrating great planning and organisational skills to maintain effective controls with regards to both GP and labour.

In return for your passion and commitment we offer £25,000 - £26,000 per year plus gratuity per annum, 28 days holiday, 20% discount in all Young’s & Geronimo managed pubs and hotels, a fun and rewarding working environment & excellent career progression opportunities with our successful development programmes and accredited Chef Academy.
