Sales Manager - Millennium and Copthorne Hotels at Chelsea FC

Reporting to: Director of Sales and Marketing

Department:  Hotel - Sales

Main Responsibilities:

  • Proactive telesales & appointments for lead generation
  • Website management – brand online & external placement
  • Third party online agency relationship management & marketing campaigns
  • To actively solicit new leads from key market segments including Corporate, Leisure, Corporate Groups, Matchday, and Exhibitions. Working to agreed business objectives by using research tools
  • To identify & develop cross-selling opportunities for Chelsea Football Club and M&C group & undertake the necessary follow-up
  • Professional correspondence with potential clients, including effective rate proposal within specified guidelines and sending relevant information to secure the business
  • Contribution towards meeting & exceeding budgeted revenue and occupancy goals for the hotel
  • Support the DOS&M in developing the Sales & Marketing Plan
  • Maintaining an awareness of competitor hotels, being knowledgeable of their strengths & weaknesses as well as their customer base
  • Aggressively seeking & understanding the proper mix and type of business that will best benefit the success of the hotel
  • Familiarise with all the hotel operations & effectively communicate between departments within area of responsibility, to ensure delivery of excellent guest service as appropriate
  • Full responsibility of using all aspects of Opera SFA to maximise efficiency and maintain integrity of local, national & global accounts
  • Performance of special projects as requested
  • Ensure that goals & targets of new business & proactive activities (including client appointments, fam trips & site visits) is achieved through proper training, planning & time management
  • Attendance on fam trips, conducting site visits and hosting of lunches & dinners as required
  • To participate in sales blitzes, trade shows, workshops & exhibitions as appropriate
  • To prepare reports as required
  • To process & support action plans related to sales department
  • Travel throughout for lead generation as client location requires
  • To have monthly reviews on business objectives & targets

Person Spec

  • Personality & work ethic - focused, self-driven, desire to achieve & exceed expectations, high expectations of self
  • Proven knowledge of the hotel industry, with particular focus on both Leisure & Corporate segments
  • Proven knowledge of website management & third party online companies
  • Excellent communication & organisational skills
  • Proficiency in computer applications including Word, Excel, Internet & some knowledge of Opera
  • Passionately driven towards revenue goals
  • Ability to work alone to tight deadlines as commercial requirement dictates as well as part of the sales team with multi-tasking ability
  • To have the ability to act own initiative as appropriate
  • Be a positive & supportive team player
  • Excellent standards of personal presentation, projecting a positive hotel image in sales presentations, external meetings & internal activities
  • Valid visa for working within the UK
  • At least 6 months working in a customer orientated role
  • Excellent organisational skills & ability to prioritise
