Role Title: Lifeguard

Reporting to: Health Club Manager

Role Objective

To contribute to our overall purpose of providing an excellent and professional service, in a secure environment, to help go beyond the expectations of our customer needs

Main Responsibilities

Customer Service:

  • Ensuring that all customers are communicated with the correct information quickly and politely


  • Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the pool and the associated areas
  • Inspect toilets, changing areas as and when required

Health & Safety:

  • Report all possible accidents
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for all pool users
  • Carry out rescues and initiate emergency action where necessary
  • Maintain a concentrated observation of the pool and pool users
  • Administer life saving techniques and first aid when required
  • Take responsibility of your own health and safety and that of colleagues and customers


  • Observing all RLSS requirements
  • Following and enforcing all relevant legislation including health & safety, hygiene, first aid and fire
  • Adhering to all Company procedures

Team support:

  • To attend and participate in any training that is deemed necessary by your manger
  • Maintain all equipment and facilities
  • You may be required to assist with duties not directly linked to your job description but commensurate with your position from time to time. Your cooperation will always be appreciated but not abused.
