From its launch as an events venue in 2012, Tobacco Dock has grown into one of the most sort after and fastest growing venues in London. No more than a handful match its historic character, scale, flexibility, technological infrastructure or dedication to a complete customer experience from enquiry to post-event. This role is an outstanding opportunity to join one of the most ambitious, successful teams in the events industry. The successful candidate will have a demonstrable track record of meeting/exceeding challenging sales targets and enjoying fantastic relationships with leading event agencies and corporate event teams from the UK, US and across EMEA.



The role will report to Jonathan Read - Co-founder/Commercial Director with a dotted-line to the Head of Sales




Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying strategic opportunities through research, our prospects database and existing event industry relationships

  • Creating and presenting bespoke credentials and proposals to prospective clients with aim of securing multi-event, multi-year bookings

  • Networking at industry events and hosting bespoke hospitality events at the venue with sales team colleagues

  • Negotiating contracts in conjunction with Head of Sales and Commercial Director

  • Arranging site visits as required (conducted by the Account Managers) and communicating Tobacco Dock's unique attributes to all levels of stakeholder from inexperienced event coordinators to C-suite executives

  • Entering enquiries accurately on to the venue's CRM and booking system (Priava)

  • Building client relationships and driving organic growth from accounts

Key Skills & Experience

  • Successful candidate is likely to have at least 5 year's event industry sales, marketing or account development experience

  • Demonstrable experience of achieving sales targets

  • Experience of developing relationships and generating new business from event agencies would be a key advantage

  • Comfortable with being able to generate new business in excess of £1m per annum

  • Ambitious, confident and looking for the next career move

  • Excellent interpersonal skills both face-to-face and over the phone

  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills

  • Commercially aware and client-focused

  • Ability to work under pressure to deadlines and targets

  • Ability to earn respect of both clients and colleagues

  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills

  • An appreciation for creativity and passion for live experiences
