My client is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced and skilled Food Ambassador for an exciting and diverse role. This role would be similar to that of a Group chef within education but will see you reaching out to stakeholders at every level so you must be confident when presenting and always willing to go the extra mile.

As ambassador you will be responsible for the catering at a large number of primary and secondary education units in one borough. You will oversee development of both food and staff and you will need to be innovative and communicative and highly energetic.

Purpose of Role:

  • To add value

  • Push current standards from good to great

  • To engage all stakeholders - Parents, Teachers, Students, and Team

  • Develop and inspire stakeholders

  • Develop menus and concepts

  • To promote healthy eating

  • To develop and provide planned training of kitchen staff

  • To train the teams in food garnishing and food presentation

  • To develop and promote the contract within the borough through road-shows, events and other cooking activities

  • To work alongside the area team to develop food awareness within the borough

The ideal candidate:

  • Craft trained and qualified chef to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 or Equivalent

  • Minimum of Intermediate / Advanced Food Hygiene Certificate

  • Passionate and enthusiastic about food in education

  • Positive and proactive

  • Ability to communicate at multiple levels

  • Enjoy passing on knowledge and skills

  • Understand and appreciate food provenance

  • Creative and inspirational with menu development

  • Confident with presentations

  • Community spirited

  • A desire to make a difference

  • Due to the nature of the role a full clean driving license is required

This could be a really refreshing change for the right candidate and be filled with amazing job satisfaction. Someone with a strong sense of community would fit well and a genuine interest in the future of children’s nutritional education will be needed too.
